Changing Your Server Version
Changing Your Server Version
To begin navigate to the Configuration > Advanced menu option and click on it. This will open up a small selection of advanced server settings.
Now pick your edition and version.
You'll find an option to change your server's edition and version. It's essential to choose the edition and version that best suits your requirements.
We highly recommend selecting "Paper" as your edition when installing Vanilla Minecraft. Paper offers enhanced performance and additional features compared to the default server version.
You can also choose to format your server, but be careful as this will REMOVE all your current files. Make sure to back up any important files or configurations before taking this step.
After you've made your edition and version selections, you're ready to proceed. Look for the "Install Different Edition" button and click on it. This action will initiate the process of updating your server with the new edition and version you have chosen.
With the installation complete, it's time to start your server. This will load the newly installed version.
Remember, make sure to keep a backup of your server files before performing any major changes to ensure you can revert to a previous version if needed.
